2 March 2016 – Call for ILAQ Volunteers for Sub Committee to Develep[ a Submission with Regard to Human Rights Act for Qld

The Indigenous Lawyers Association of Queensland is calling for volunteers to work with them in preparing a written submission with respect to the possible introduction of a Human Rights Act in Queensland.  In 2016, Queenslanders have the historic opportunity to decide whether Queensland should introduce a Human Rights Act. At the request of Queensland’s Attorney-General, the parliamentary Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee is conducting a Human Rights Inquiry, due to report to parliament by 30 June 2016.  Anyone interested in assisting with this submission please contact Ms Linda Ryle, President of the Indigenous Lawyers Association of Queensland by email to Linda.Ryle@justice.qld.gov.au
